Ingredients

– One 15 oz loaf French bread, cut into cubes (preferably day-old)

– 8 large eggs

– 1 cup whole milk

– 1 cup half and half

– Β½ cup brown sugar for custard

– 1 Β½ teaspoons ground cinnamon for custard

– 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

1-Place the bread cubes in a greased casserole dish.

2-Whisk the eggs, milk, half and half, brown sugar (Β½ cup), cinnamon (1 Β½ tsp), and vanilla extract, then pour over the bread and stir lightly.

3-Combine the topping ingredients and refrigerate until use.

4-Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C), add the topping, and bake for 40-55 minutes.

5-Serve warm with maple syrup for the best experience.
