🍏 Country Apple Fritter Bread is a soft, moist bread bursting with cinnamon-spiced apple chunks, making it a perfect breakfast or dessert treat.
🍞 This recipe includes a simple cream glaze that adds a sweet finishing touch, ideal for anyone who loves warm, cozy flavors in their baked goods.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 40 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf

Ingredients

– ⅓ cup brown sugar for the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture

– 1 teaspoon cinnamon for the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture

– ½ cup softened butter for the apple bread loaf

– ⅔ cup granulated sugar for the apple bread loaf

– 2 room temperature eggs for the apple bread loaf

– 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract for the apple bread loaf

– 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour) for the apple bread loaf

– 1 ¾ teaspoons baking powder for the apple bread loaf

– ½ cup milk or almond milk (room temperature) for the apple bread loaf

– 2 large apples, peeled and chopped small for the chopped apple mixture

– 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for the chopped apple mixture

– 1 teaspoon cinnamon for the chopped apple mixture

– ½ cup powdered sugar for the old-fashioned cream glaze

– 1 to 3 tablespoons milk or cream (depending on desired thickness) for the old-fashioned cream glaze

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and greasing a 9×5-inch loaf pan lining it with parchment paper works great too for easy removal.

2-Mix up that cinnamon sugar goodness: In a bowl, combine ⅓ cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon, then set it aside for layering later.

3-Whisk together dry ingredients: Next, in another bowl, whisk together 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free if you’re going that route) and 1 ¾ teaspoons baking powder to get your dry ingredients prepped.

4-Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla: Now, for the fun part cream ½ cup softened butter and ⅔ cup granulated sugar until it’s nice and smooth, then add in 2 room temperature eggs one at a time, followed by 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract.

5-Stir in flour mixture and milk: Gradually stir in the flour mixture, and once that’s combined, mix in ½ cup milk or almond milk to make a smooth batter.

6-Prepare apples: Don’t forget to toss 2 large peeled and chopped apples with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a separate bowl for that fresh apple burst.

7-Layer it up in your pan: Pour half the batter in first, spread it even, then add half the apple mixture and half the cinnamon sugar. Repeat with the rest, give it a gentle swirl with a knife, and pop it in the oven.

8-Bake: Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes clean keep an eye on it since times can vary.

9-Cool and glaze: Once done, let it rest for 15 minutes, cool on a rack, and top with the glaze made from ½ cup powdered sugar mixed with 1 to 3 tablespoons milk or cream.
