2-Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously until it’s hot but not boiling, to keep the flavors fresh and prevent any scorching.

3-Remove from heat and add the 3 ounces alcohol of choice if desired, stirring it in gently for that extra warmth.

4-Pour the hot chocolate into 2 to 3 mugs, dividing it evenly for sharing.

5-To prepare whipped cream, whisk the 1 cup heavy cream and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar together until medium to stiff peaks form, then top your mugs as desired.
