  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 10 servings

Ingredients

– 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

– ΒΌ cup granulated sugar

– 1 large egg

– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

– 1 Β½ cups all-purpose flour

– 1 Β½ teaspoons cornstarch

– ΒΌ teaspoon baking soda

– β…› teaspoon salt

– 1 Β½ cups chopped candy bars (like chocolate, caramel, peanut butter cups, or chocolate-coated candies)

– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

– 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted

– 1 ΒΌ cups powdered sugar, sifted

– Β½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

– 1 to 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven to 350Β°F. Grease a 9 Β½ inch pie dish and line the bottom with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal.

2-In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugars until light and fluffy, creating a smooth base for your dough.

3-Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, blending until fully incorporated for added moisture and flavor.

4-In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt; then gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined to keep the dough tender.

5-Stir in 1 cup of the chopped candy bars, folding gently to distribute them evenly without breaking them up too much.

6-Press the dough into the prepared pie dish, then sprinkle and lightly press the remaining Β½ cup chopped candy bars on top for an extra burst of texture.

7-Bake for 23-25 minutes until the edges are light golden brown. Let it cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.

8-For the frosting: In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter, sifted cocoa powder, sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of milk until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency, then pipe it around the edge of the cooled pie and decorate with extra chopped candy.
