170 grams (1 ยฝ sticks) unsalted butter, softened

198 grams (1 cup) granulated sugar

213 grams (1 cup) light brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs (100 grams)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

360 grams (3 cups) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

170 grams (1 cup) chopped chocolate or chocolate chips

Extra chocolate squares for filling

Instructions

1-Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy.

2-Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

3-In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

4-Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, taking care not to over-mix.

5-Fold in the chopped chocolate or chocolate chips.

6-Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.

7-Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (177ยฐC) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

8-Scoop 1 ยฝ to 2 tablespoon portions of dough, flatten slightly, place one or two chocolate squares in the center depending on desired richness, then fold and roll dough to fully enclose the filling.

9-Place the cookies 3 inches apart and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges turn golden brown.

10-Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before removing.
