12 oz (340 g) cranberries, rinsed and picked through (removing bad or bruised cranberries)

Instructions

First Step: Combine the sugars, water, and orange juice in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugars dissolve and bring to a boil.

Second Step: Add the cranberries and return to a boil.

Third Step: Reduce heat to a simmer and cook the cranberries, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes or until most berries have burst and the mixture slightly reduces. Be cautious of splatter.

Fourth Step: The longer you cook the sauce, the thicker it will become, but it will also thicken as it cools.

Fifth Step: Transfer to a bowl and let cool at room temperature for at least 20 minutes.

Sixth Step: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
