🍳 This casserole is easy to prepare and perfect for feeding a crowd with flavorful, satisfying layers.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

– 9 whole eggs (beaten)

– 3 egg whites (beaten)

– Β½ cup of 2% milk

– 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard

– Β½ teaspoon of garlic powder

– Β½ cup of chopped bacon (about 4-5 strips, using crispy bacon for the best texture)

– 4 ounces of shredded Gruyere cheese (or substitutes like mozzarella, white cheddar, or pepper jack)

– 4 ounces of shredded sharp cheddar cheese

– Approximately 10 croissants (pulled in half)

– Fresh chopped chives (used as a garnish)

Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9Γ—13 inch baking dish. Cut the croissants into bite-sized pieces and layer them in the dish for an even base.

2-Whisking the Mixture: In a bowl, whisk the 9 whole eggs and 3 egg whites with Β½ cup of 2% milk, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, and Β½ teaspoon of garlic powder until smooth. Fold in half of the shredded Gruyere and sharp cheddar cheese along with the chopped bacon.

3-Arrange the halved croissants in a lightly oiled 9Γ—13 inch casserole dish, pour the egg mixture over them evenly, and top with the rest of the cheese.

4-Cover with foil and bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for about 35 minutes until the eggs are fully cooked.

5-Once it’s done, garnish with fresh chopped chives for a pop of color and flavor.

6-Let it cool slightly before serving to help it set, serving 6 to 8 people with ease.
