Vegetable oil for frying (enough to fill about one-third of the pot)
1 1/2 cups (180 grams) confectionersβ sugar, sifted
3 to 4 tablespoons (45–60 ml) heavy cream, half-and-half, or whole milk
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
