🍖 This Meatloaf recipe delivers a classic, comforting meal that’s easy to make and loved by everyone.
🍽️ Perfect for every dinner, it offers juicy, flavorful meat combined with a tangy homemade glaze for a satisfying finish.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs (about 900 grams) ground beef (80-85% lean)

1 medium finely chopped onion (about 1 cup)

3 minced garlic cloves

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons ketchup (or 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce)

3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley (or dried)

3/4 cup Panko or gluten-free breadcrumbs

1/3 cup milk

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

3/4 cup ketchup

1 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

1-Getting started: Getting started with this homestyle meatloaf dinner is as simple as preheating your oven and organizing your ingredients. Begin by setting your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment or foil for easy cleanup. This step ensures your meatloaf bakes evenly and develops a crispy crust that adds to its appeal.

2-Once your oven is ready: sauté the finely chopped onion in 1 teaspoon of oil over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until it’s soft and golden. Let it cool slightly before mixing it with the other ingredients to enhance the flavor and avoid any raw taste. In a large bowl, gently combine the 2 lbs of ground beef, the sautéed onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, 2 large eggs, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, 3 tablespoons of parsley, 3/4 cup breadcrumbs, 1/3 cup milk, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix just until blended to keep the meatloaf tender and not dense.

3-Shape the mixture: into an 8 x 4 x 3 inch loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Bake it uncovered for 40 minutes, then prepare the glaze by mixing 3/4 cup ketchup, 1 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. Spread this glaze over the top of the meatloaf and continue baking for another 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F for beef or 165°F for poultry. After baking, let the meatloaf rest for 10-15 minutes to lock in juices and make slicing easier.
