🍰 This Key Lime Pie Trifle Recipe is perfect for summer gatherings, combining creamy layers with a refreshing citrus zest for a delightful dessert experience.
πŸ‹ Enjoy the vibrant flavors of key lime balanced with a crunchy graham cracker crumble and light angel food cake, perfect for sharing with friends and family.

  • Total Time: 6 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

– 13 full graham crackers, finely crushed

– 6 tablespoons brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon cinnamon

– 8 tablespoons salted butter, melted

– 2 cups heavy cream

– 8 ounces softened cream cheese

– 2 (14 oz) cans sweetened condensed milk

– 3/4 cup key lime juice

– 1 tablespoon key lime zest

– 16 ounces angel food cake, cut into cubes

– Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

1-First, prepare the Graham Cracker Crumble: Preheat the oven to 350ΒΊF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine the crushed graham crackers, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter, then spread the mixture evenly to about 1/4-inch thickness on the baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden, let it cool completely, and break it into small pieces.

2-Next, make the Key Lime Cream Filling: Whip the heavy cream in a chilled bowl until stiff peaks form, then refrigerate it. Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and gradually add the sweetened condensed milk in two parts while mixing until smooth. Slowly add the key lime juice and zest, mixing until smooth, then gently fold in the whipped cream to combine.

3-Finally, assemble the trifle: In a large trifle dish or bowl, place a layer of angel food cake cubes. Spread half the key lime filling over the cake, then sprinkle half the graham cracker crumble on top. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, filling, and crumble, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Before serving, decorate with whipped cream and lime slices for that extra touch.
