  • Total Time: 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Yield: About 40 candies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup of melted butter

1 pound of powdered sugar

1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

14 ounces of sweetened shredded coconut

14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk

10 ounces of well-drained, chopped maraschino cherries

3 cups of finely chopped pecans

16 ounces of melted candy coating for dipping the balls

Instructions

1-Start by mixing all the main ingredients in a large bowl, which sets the stage for that creamy center.

2-First, gather your ingredients and prepare your workspace by lining a pan or tray with parchment paper. Combine the 1 cup of melted butter, 1 pound of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, 14 ounces of sweetened shredded coconut, 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk, 10 ounces of well-drained and chopped maraschino cherries, and 3 cups of finely chopped pecans in a bowl.

3-Mix everything thoroughly, then chill the mixture for at least two hours to firm it up.

4-After chilling, form the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a tray for another 20 minutes in the fridge.

5-Finally, melt the 16 ounces of candy coating and dip each ball, setting them on parchment paper until the coating hardens.
