🍦 Homemade Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream offers a refreshing, cool mint flavor combined with rich and creamy texture for a delightful treat.
🍫 The addition of semi-sweet chocolate pieces adds a satisfying crunch, making this recipe a favorite for mint and chocolate lovers alike.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 1.5 quarts

Ingredients

– 1 cup whole milk, well chilled

– ΒΎ cup granulated sugar

– 2 cups heavy cream, well chilled

– 1.5 to 2 teaspoons pure peppermint extract, or to taste

– 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate bar, chopped into tiny pieces

Instructions

1- Begin by chilling your bowl and beaters for about 15 minutes, which helps the mixture whip up nicely for that perfect texture.

2- First, in a large bowl, combine 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, ΒΎ cup of granulated sugar, and 1.5 to 2 teaspoons of peppermint extract. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, creating a smooth base for your mint chocolate chip ice cream.

3- Next, pour this mixture into your ice cream maker and let it churn for around 25 minutes, as per the directions.

4-Adding the Chocolate: During the last 5 minutes of churning, slowly add the 4 ounces of chopped semi-sweet chocolate to evenly distribute those tasty bits. Once done, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze it for at least 2 to 3 hours to firm up. For garnish, top with fresh mint leaves if you like, though it’s optional for that refreshing mint chocolate flavor.
