πŸ₯– Pepperoni Rolls are delicious homemade snacks featuring savory pepperoni and gooey mozzarella wrapped in soft bread dough.
πŸ• These easy-to-make rolls are perfect for a quick snack or pairing with pizza and marinara sauce for a satisfying treat.

  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Yield: 8 rolls

Ingredients

– 16 ounces thawed frozen bread dough

– 16 slices pepperoni (2 slices per roll for 8 rolls)

– 16 slices mozzarella cheese (2 slices per roll, each cut into fourths)

– 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (divided among the 8 rolls)

– 1 large egg, well-beaten and mixed with a splash of water (for the egg wash)

Instructions

1-First, take the 16 ounces of thawed frozen bread dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Each piece should be flattened to about a 4Γ—4 inch diameter on a lightly floured surface, setting the foundation for a soft, pillowy roll.

2-Next, for the filling, place 2 slices of pepperoni and 2 slices of mozzarella cheese (cut into fourths) in the center of each dough piece. Sprinkle each with a portion of the 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning divided among the rolls, adding that extra flavor boost Italian seasoning is optional but really brings out the taste.

3-Then, fold the dough over the filling and roll it tightly, making sure to seal the seams carefully to keep everything inside. Place the rolls seam side down on a parchment-lined sheet tray for even baking.

4-After that, brush the tops with the egg wash made from 1 well-beaten large egg mixed with a splash of water. This gives them a shiny, golden brown finish when baked.

5-Preheat your oven to 400Β°F and bake the rolls for 10-12 minutes until they’re golden brown. Let them cool for about 5 minutes before serving, and enjoy them on their own or with pizza or marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

πŸ§€ Use mozzarella slices instead of shredded cheese to prevent oozing during baking.
πŸ₯‘ Store rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 day, refrigerate up to a week, or freeze up to 3 months.
🌿 Italian seasoning adds flavor but can be omitted; experiment with different meats and cheeses for variation.
