Ingredients

Scale

2 packages (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls

8 oz cream cheese (light optional)

ΒΌ cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon almond extract

21 oz raspberry pie filling or raspberry jam

Β½ cup powdered sugar for the glaze

23 tablespoons milk or heavy cream for the glaze

1 cup toasted chopped walnuts for topping

2 cups frozen raspberries for homemade raspberry sauce alternative

ΒΎ cup sugar for homemade raspberry sauce

1 teaspoon lemon juice for homemade raspberry sauce

ΒΌ cup water for homemade raspberry sauce

2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with water for homemade raspberry sauce

1 tablespoon butter for homemade raspberry sauce

Β½ teaspoon vanilla extract for homemade raspberry sauce

Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 375Β°F and lightly grease a round baking pan. In a bowl, mix 8 oz of softened cream cheese with ΒΌ cup sugar, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon almond extract until it’s smooth and creamy. Unroll the two 8-ounce packages of refrigerated crescent rolls and arrange them in a circular shape on the pan, with the wide ends overlapping in the center.

2-Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, then spoon 21 oz of raspberry pie filling or jam on top. Fold the pointed ends of the dough over the filling and tuck them inside the ring to seal it up. Bake for 25-30 minutes until it’s golden brown, then let it cool for 10 minutes.

3-Adding the Finishing Touches While the ring bakes, whisk together Β½ cup powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of milk or heavy cream to make a simple glaze. Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top and sprinkle with 1 cup of toasted chopped walnuts for extra crunch. Serve it warm, perhaps with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, to make it even more special.

4-For a homemade raspberry sauce, cook 2 cups frozen raspberries with ΒΎ cup sugar, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and ΒΌ cup water until the berries break down. Add 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with water to thicken, then stir in 1 tablespoon butter and Β½ teaspoon vanilla extract. This adds a fresh twist if you want to vary the recipe.
