🧀 This dish is simple to prepare yet packed with savory flavors, making it perfect for a satisfying dinner any night of the week.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 1 cup long grain white rice

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 small onion, finely chopped

– 1 tablespoon minced garlic

– 2 cups chicken broth

– 8 ounces tomato sauce

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

– 1 teaspoon ground cumin

– 1 teaspoon dried cilantro

– 1 pound sirloin steak, sliced

– 2 tablespoons butter

– Steak spice to taste

– White queso for drizzling

– Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

– Flour tortillas for serving

Instructions

1-Follow these steps to create a delicious steak queso rice that’s easy and full of flavor. Start by preparing your ingredients for smooth cooking. The process begins with heating olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to toast the rice until it’s slightly browned.

2-Next, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing on medium-low heat until they’re fragrant and translucent. Pour in the chicken broth and tomato sauce, stir well, bring to a boil, and cook for two minutes before reducing the heat, covering, and simmering for 20 minutes until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

3-In another skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat and add the sliced sirloin steak seasoned with steak spice, cooking to your desired doneness. Once done, remove the steak and let the rice rest covered for 10 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve it topped with the cooked steak, drizzled generously with warm white queso, garnished with fresh cilantro, and accompanied by warm flour tortillas for a complete meal.
