Instructions
1-Remove the beard from the fresh mussels and wash them thoroughly to ensure they’re clean and ready for cooking.
2-Place the mussels in a large pot with about ΒΌ cup of water, cover, and cook over medium-low heat until the shells open; once cool, remove the top shells.
3-In a saucepan, melt 100 grams of butter over medium heat, add minced garlic from the whole head, and cook until it’s tender and fragrant.
4-Add 5 tablespoons of breadcrumbs and cook for about a minute, then pour in Β½ cup of milk and stir until the sauce thickens; season with ΒΌ teaspoon of salt and keep stirring until it’s fully thickened, then remove from heat.
5-Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil and arrange the mussels with the meat side up for even baking.
6-Fill each mussel shell with the garlic bechamel sauce using a teaspoon to get the perfect amount in each one.
7-Grate 165 grams of quick-melt cheese over the stuffed mussels and bake at 355Β°F (180Β°C) for 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts and browns slightly.
