๐ŸŒฎ Taco Biscuit Cups combine savory seasoned beef with flaky biscuit dough, creating a flavorful and easy-to-make snack or meal.
๐Ÿง€ This dish is perfect for busy weeknights or parties, offering a delicious mix of beef, cheese, and biscuits all in one bite-sized cup.

  • Total Time: 37 minutes
  • Yield: 12 cups

Ingredients

– 450 grams (1 pound) ground beef (or ground turkey or chicken)

– 28 grams (1 ounce) taco seasoning packet

– ยพ cup water

– 2 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro (optional)

– 340 grams (12 ounce) refrigerated biscuits (two 6-ounce cans can be used; homestyle or flaky layers preferred)

– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (pepper jack cheese suggested for more flavor)

Instructions

1-Getting started: Getting started with taco biscuit cups is as simple as turning on your oven. First, preheat it to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) and grease a muffin tin with nonstick spray to keep everything from sticking. This step takes just a minute and sets the stage for success.

2-Brown and crumble the ground beef: Next, brown and crumble the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes. Be sure to drain any excess grease once it’s done. Then, stir in the taco seasoning and water, simmering until most of the liquid is absorbed, which takes about 5 minutes.

3-Mix in the cilantro and prepare the biscuit cups: Remove the mixture from the heat and mix in the cilantro if you’re using it. Now, separate the biscuits and press each one into the muffin cups, pushing the dough up the sides to form little cups. Divide the meat mixture evenly among them, saving a bit for later if needed.

4-Bake the biscuit cups: Top each cup with shredded cheese and slide the tin into the oven. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the biscuits turn golden brown and the cheese melts perfectly. Once done, let them cool for a few minutes before serving. The whole process takes about 10 minutes to prepare and 27 minutes to cook, totaling around 37 minutes.
