Ingredients
– ground beef (or chicken or pork) for the hearty protein base
– black pepper to add a touch of heat
– garlic for that essential aromatic punch
– fresh grated ginger to bring in a zesty, fresh flavor
– Chinese 5 spice for a blend of warm spices
– tamari or soy sauce to enhance the savory notes
– Thai chili sauce for a kick of spice and sweetness
– 2 tablespoons chopped green onions perfect for adding during cooking
– Persian cucumbers to provide crunch and freshness
– cilantro for a bright, herbal taste
– Thai basil the star herb for authentic flavor
– chopped roasted peanuts to top off with a nutty crunch
– flour tortillas as the wrap to hold everything together
– chili paste for extra heat on the side
– toasted sesame oil to drizzle and add a nutty finish
Instructions
1-First, cook the ground beef with black pepper over medium heat until it’s browned, which takes about 5 minutes, then stir in garlic, ginger, and Chinese 5 spice for another minute.
2-Next, add tamari or soy sauce and Thai chili sauce, simmering for 3-5 minutes until the sauce clings to the beef.
3-Stir in 2 tablespoons of chopped green onions and remove from heat to let the flavors meld.
4-Warm your flour tortillas in the microwave for 15 seconds, then spoon the beef mixture onto them along with Persian cucumbers, cilantro, Thai basil, and chopped roasted peanuts.
5-Fold and roll the tortillas snugly, and serve warm with extra sauces on the side for a complete dish.
6-If you opt for rice, it’s a great addition to make it even more filling.
